Low flow anesthesia while using desflurane vs isoflurane: A prospective randomized clinical comparison study

چکیده

Aim: To use equilibration time to compare the properties of desflurane and isoflurane during low flow anesthesia.Material Methods: The Department Anesthesia at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad, India, conducted this prospective research. In research, 100 healthy patients either sex who were scheduled for routine surgery had hemoglobin levels more than 10 g/dL American Society Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I or II included. Patients divided into two groups random. Desflurane was administered as inhalational anesthetic with minimum anesthesia Group (n=50). Isoflurane (n=50) along anesthesia. Results: There adult investigated. Two 50 each created by randomly dividing groups. average amount needed equilibrate volatile agent 5.23 1.63 min group 17.011 9.64 group. This difference statistically significant (P 0.001). Desflurane's mean end-tidal concentrations (in kPa) 4.68 0.80, 4.78 0.62, 4.38 0.61, 4.15 0.62 5, 20, 60, 120 minutes, respectively. At 5-, 20-, 120-minute intervals, respectively, variation 0.77 0.17, 0.93 0.73 0.19, 0.74 0.19. When any systems reached equilibration, uptake nitrous oxide least 80%.Conclusion: We came conclusion that minimal may be used effectively availability drugs like desflurane, resulting less gas drift, a clearer recovery, operating room pollution.

Postoperative recovery after desflurane, propofol, or isoflurane anesthesia among morbidly obese patients: a prospective, randomized study.

UNLABELLED Recovery from anesthesia might be compromised in obese patients. Because of its pharmacological properties, desflurane might allow rapid postoperative recovery for these patients. We compared postoperative recovery for 36 obese patients randomized to receive either desflurane, propofol, or isoflurane to maintain anesthesia during laparoscopic gastroplasties. Anesthesia was induced wi...

A comparison of the recovery times of desflurane and isoflurane in outpatient anesthesia.

The low solubility of desflurane has been shown to contribute to faster awakening from anesthesia when compared with other anesthetics in common use. However, research has failed to consistently demonstrate faster discharge times from the postanesthesia care unit following the use of desflurane. This study was undertaken to compare the recovery and discharge times of outpatients undergoing proc...

Low-flow sevoflurane compared with low-flow isoflurane anesthesia in patients with stable renal insufficiency.

BACKGROUND Sevoflurane is degraded to compound A (CpA) by carbon dioxide absorbents containing strong base. CpA is nephrotoxic in rats. Patient exposure to CpA is increased with low fresh gas flow rates, use of Baralyme, and high sevoflurane concentrations. CpA formation during low-flow and closed circuit sevoflurane anesthesia had no significant renal effects in surgical patients with normal r...

Transcranial motor evoked potentials during anesthesia with desflurane versus propofol--A prospective randomized trial.

OBJECTIVE This study aimed to evaluate differences in transcranial electrical motor evoked potential (tcMEP) amplitudes between desflurane/remifentanil and propofol/remifentanil anesthesia treatment plans in patients without preexisting motor deficits (PMDs) undergoing carotid endarterectomy (CEA). METHODS This prospective trial included 21 patients who were randomly assigned to an effect gro...

Pharmacokinetics of inhaled anaesthetics in a clinical setting: comparison of desflurane, isoflurane and sevoflurane.

The pharmacokinetic characteristics of desflurane, isoflurane and sevoflurane (16 patients for each anaesthetic) were estimated from measurements of inspired and end-expired agent concentrations and ventilation, obtained during routine anaesthesia in patients undergoing maxillofacial surgery (mean age 38 yr, duration of anaesthesia approximately 2 h). A two-compartment model described the data ...
